Requirements
The following documents must be submitted to complete an application.
- Letters of Recommendation
- Official Transcripts
- Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (international applicants only)
- International Graduate Student Supplemental Application Packet (international applicants only)
- Application Fee
Admission and Financial Aid Decisions
Applicants are notified in writing if they have been recommended or denied admission to graduate study.
There are a limited number of Assistantships. Financial assistance decisions are based on the funding available in each department.
Applicants awarded financial aid will receive notification from the Swanson School of Engineering and have until April 15 to notify the School whether they wish to accept or decline the offer. (Students offered financial aid after April 15 will be given two weeks from the date of the offer to accept or decline the offer). Once these deadlines have passed the student is not guaranteed financial support.
Application Fee
All documents including a non-refundable application fee of $50 is required upon submission (applications will not be processed until the application fee is received). Mail a check or money order payable to the University of Pittsburgh to the following address:
